Local Underwriting

WZKP is made possible by listeners like you and these local businesses and organizations.

Riverside Repair Collective

"If it's broken, we can fix it. If we can't, we'll teach you how."

Electronics • Appliances • Bicycles • Textiles • Tools

We believe things should last. We believe everyone should know how to fix things. We believe community is built one repair at a time.

Location: River District, corner of 3rd and Oak
Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-6pm
Trade welcome. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Greenway Water Reclamation

"Water is life. We keep it flowing."

Clean water for the watersheds since 2043

Residential filtration systems • Community purification stations • Rainwater harvesting • Greywater recycling

When the aquifers failed and the rivers changed, we learned to reclaim every drop. Now we're teaching the next generation how to survive and thrive with the water we have.

Services: System installation, maintenance, education workshops
Contact: Greenway Water Reclamation, South Quarter
Emergency repairs available 24/7

Fish's Salvage & Trade

"I pull things from the river. Sometimes they still work."

River salvage • Pre-collapse tech recovery • Faraday cage repairs

The rivers took the old cities. Now they're giving pieces back. I dive for circuit boards, solar panels, copper wire, anything useful. Most of it's waterlogged and dead. But sometimes - sometimes you find treasure.

Trade in salvage, trade for salvage. I've got radios, batteries, motors, mystery boxes full of who-knows-what. You tell me what you need, maybe I've got it. Maybe I can find it.

Location: Dock 7, South Quarter
Hours: When I'm not diving
Ask for Fish. Everyone knows Fish.

Maplewood Seed Library

"The future grows from what we plant today."

Heirloom seeds • Adaptive varietals • Growing workshops

Borrow seeds. Grow food. Return seeds. That's how it works. That's how we build food security together.

Our collection includes over 300 varieties adapted for the new climate: heat-tolerant tomatoes, drought-resistant beans, quick-growing greens that can handle the long hot summers. Every seed has a story of survival.

Location: Maplewood Community Center, North Quarter
Open: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday 9am-5pm
Free to all watershed residents. Workshops every Saturday.

Aurora's Music Lessons

"Music is how we remember who we are."

Piano • Electronic composition • Raga improvisation

I teach because someone taught me. I teach because music shouldn't belong only to those who can afford it. I teach because in a world that tried to take everything, we get to keep beauty.

All ages. All skill levels. We start where you are.

Lessons: Individual or group sessions
Location: Aurora's studio, East Quarter
Sliding scale pricing. First lesson always free.

New Roots Community Kitchen

"Everyone eats. That's not negotiable."

Free community meals • Cooking workshops • Food preservation

We serve breakfast and dinner, seven days a week. Over 200 meals a day. No questions asked. No payment required. Just food, community, and the understanding that we take care of each other.

Want to help? We always need cooks, dishwashers, food donations, or just people to sit and eat with the elders who come alone.

Location: Oak Street, North Quarter
Meal times: Breakfast 7-9am, Dinner 5-7pm
Donations accepted Tuesday & Thursday 2-4pm

Cahokia Tool Library

"Why should everyone own a drill they use twice a year?"

Tool lending • Equipment sharing • Skills workshops

Borrow tools like you'd borrow books. Build what you need to build. Return the tools when you're done. Share resources. Reduce waste. Build community.

We've got hand tools, power tools, gardening equipment, sewing machines, bike repair stands, and specialty items. If you need something we don't have, request it - maybe we can find one to add to the collection.

Location: West Quarter Community Center
Open: Wednesday-Sunday 10am-6pm
Free membership. Return tools clean and in working order.
